Coalition for Fair Employment in Construction Endorses Jim Desmond for Congress
San Diego, CA – The Coalition for Fair Employment in Construction (CFEC) has officially endorsed San Diego County Supervisor Jim Desmond in his bid for Congress, citing his unwavering commitment to fair employment practices and open competition in public and private construction projects.
“For years, Jim Desmond has been a champion for fairness and transparency in the construction industry,” said Eric Christen, President of CFEC. “He has consistently fought against backroom deals and restrictive mandates that stifle competition and drive-up costs for taxpayers. We need leaders in Washington who will stand up for free enterprise and workers’ rights, and Jim Desmond is exactly that leader.”
Desmond, who has long opposed restrictive labor policies that limit opportunities for skilled workers and small businesses, emphasized the importance of ensuring that new development projects remain open to all qualified bidders, not just a select few.
“America was built on the principles of free enterprise and opportunity,” said Jim Desmond. “We must ensure that public and private construction projects are open to all skilled workers and contractors, regardless of union affiliation. I’m grateful for the endorsement of CFEC and their work to protect fairness in employment and competition.”
Jim Desmond has been a strong voice against policies that unfairly restrict competition and drive-up costs for taxpayers. As a member of Congress, he vows to continue advocating for fair and open markets that empower businesses, create jobs, and strengthen local economies.
