Why I’m Running For Congress In The 49th District
I’m Jim Desmond—a father, husband, U.S. Navy Veteran, Delta Airline Pilot for 33 years, former Mayor of San Marcos for 12 years, and current San Diego County Supervisor. My life has been dedicated to service, leadership, and getting things done, whether it’s in the cockpit, the Mayor’s office, or at the County level. Our current Congressional representatives have lost sight of their primary responsibility: to represent the people.
Instead of solving problems, we see endless bickering, gridlock, and partisan theatrics in Washington, D.C. While they’re playing politics, the real challenges facing hardworking families in the 49th District are being ignored. I’m running for Congress because it’s time for change. It’s time for common sense to return to our government. We need leaders who will focus on delivering real solutions.
