Latino American Political Association of San Diego Endorses Jim Desmond for Congress
The Latino American Political Association of San Diego (LAPA) announces its endorsement of Jim Desmond for Congress, recognizing his commitment to ensuring a safer community and a stronger economy for all San Diegans.
LAPA, which was founded to increase Latino involvement and representation in government, endorses candidates who “demonstrate the greatest ability to promote benefits for the Hispanic community in line with the mission of LAPA as well as all San Diegans.” The organization believes Desmond’s leadership will bring the necessary changes to protect families and lower costs for working-class residents.
“Our community wants leaders who will stand up for safety and economic security,” said LAPA President, Ed Cervantes. “Latino families across San Diego deserve a representative who listens and takes action on their concerns. Jim Desmond has proven that he will fight for policies that make our neighborhoods safer, lower costs, and bring real solutions to the border crisis. Our current representative has failed to address these issues, and it’s time for new leadership.”
Jim Desmond emphasized his commitment to the community, stating:
"I am honored to receive the endorsement of the Latino American Political Association of San Diego. Latino families, like all San Diegans, want a secure border, safe neighborhoods, and relief from California’s skyrocketing costs. Unfortunately, our current representative has failed them. In Congress, I will fight to bring down the cost of living, support law enforcement, and work to restore order at our border—because keeping our communities safe is not a partisan issue; it’s a basic responsibility of government."
With a track record of standing up against overregulation and government mismanagement, Desmond is committed to addressing the real concerns of San Diego residents. His campaign continues to focus on solutions that prioritize public safety, economic stability, and border security—issues that matter deeply to Latino voters and all San Diegans.
